A Brief Biographical Sketch of Brian Allison

Brian Allison was born in Toronto, Canada, and grew up in that city. He became a committed Christian in his last year of university, after living a life of self-indulgence. After graduating from university, he immediately enrolled in Seminary, having an insatiable thirst for Biblical knowledge and truth. He graduated at the top of his class. He comes from a line of staunch Christian believers. His great grandfather was a respected African Methodist Episcopal minister.

Brian graduated from high school with distinction, receiving the Award for Proficiency. He attended the University of Western Ontario, and matriculated with a B.A. in Psychology and Philosophy. He then matriculated with a M.Div. from Toronto Baptist Seminary (as valedictorian); and with a M.A. (Theology) from Wycliffe College, University of Toronto. He finished off his formal education by securing a D.Min. (Counseling) from Westminster Theological Seminary, Philadelphia, PA. His doctoral thesis required no revisions and was deemed "stellar."

Brian began his teaching career as a school Principal and Supervisor for Bethel Christian Academy, Orillia. He then became the Religious/Biblical Studies teacher and Guidance Counselor for The Paul B. Smith Academy, Toronto. He remained in this capacity for 6 years. He then proceeded to teach at the College and Seminary levels. He taught 6 years at Ontario Bible College (now Tyndale College), and for 16 years at Toronto Baptist Seminary. He also taught at the Constanza Bible Institute, Constanza, Romania. At present, he is the Executive Director and therapeutic counselor at Maranatha Counseling Services, Toronto.

While teaching, Brian also pastored. He pastored for over 20 years, and was the Senior Pastor of Unionville Baptist Church, Unionville, ON, for 13 years. A major emphasis in his preaching was the surrendered life. He is a Christian mystic in the line of Augustine, John Calvin, William Law, A.W. Tozer, and D. Martin Lloyd-Jones.
